BEWARE of Phishing!
NEORQC recently had an incident involving members being contacted with an email that appeared to be coming from a member of the Board. If you get an email that feels urgent, asks for personal info, or wants you to click a link—PAUSE. It could be a scam designed to steal your identity, drain your bank account, or infect your device with malware. Even if it looks like it’s from a trusted source, DOUBLE-CHECK BEFORE YOU CLICK.
The sending-out of these types of emails is called “phishing.” Phishing is a cybercrime that uses fake emails, websites, or messages to trick people into sharing personal or financial data.
To help protect our membership, below is a link from the FTC explaining how to RECOGNIZE and AVOID phishing scams. Please take a moment to read through the article to learn how to protect yourself from this malicious activity.
